Interesting Development at Dartmouth
Dartmouth, most recently under the magnifying glass for their Dean of Admission's comments four years ago that called for the end of football a la Swartmore, had an interesting turn of events in their Board of Trustees voting this past weekend.

It seems that two write in candidates for the board were elected against the wishes of the administration and a large portion of the board. These two have historically conservative views that clash with much of what is going on at Dartmouth.
I take particular interest in this in light of the struggles that are occuring at Colgate these days over the vision of the college, specifically over the residential life plan. Could something like this at Colgate be next?

Tried to interest a friend's daughter - a field hockey star and great student - in Colgate and she chose Dartmouth. They must have something there in Hanover.

From what I hear, it's not too bad of a school. How long ago was it? I'm thinking that we should win those battles with the Ivies now that we have scholarships at our disposal.
Was she a recent recruit and was she being offered a scholarship?
